If you’ve got pets, or kids, or you’re a human, you probably have dirty floors. I have to sweep multiple times a week to keep up with the pet hair, dirt, crumbs and other debris that clings to my floors.
Let’s face it, none of us clean our floors as much as they need it. Mopping is a pain. It’s messy, takes time and strains the back. We avoid it at all costs.
That’s why we put together a comprehensive comparison of robot mops, so you can “hire” one as your personal maid.
Are Floor Mopping Robots Ready for Primetime?
We want to preface this article by stating that we do not feel like robot mops are anywhere near where they need to be for most consumers.
However, they are constantly improving and we realize that some consumers wish to test the latest and greatest gadgets! So, we’ve ranked the three best floor mopping robots. We hope that in the next couple of years these robots will be much more efficient and we’ll have more positive reviews to share.
The Moneual Pro RoboVacMop Hybrid Robot Vacuum Cleaner doesn’t have as big of a reputation as the Roomba or bObsweep, but from our research, it appears to be the better of the three, which is why we’ve chosen it as the best robot mop.
The Moneual Pro doubles as a robot vacuum and mop, so you can have it vacuum your floors followed by a mopping. The RoboVacMop can vacuum for up to two hours or mop for up to three hours on one charge.
This robot has a remote control, and you can schedule cleanings, which makes it easier and more convenient to use. The water tank holds more than six ounces of water, which claims to supply moisture for a wet mop for up to three hours.
Overall, we’re not sure about this robot’s mopping ability. We read many mixed reviews stating that customers were either extraordinarily pleased, or terribly displeased, with the function. In the end, it seems like it’s a 50/50 chance you’ll like the mopping feature, which is better than the others we reviewed in this article.

How Does RoboVacMop Work?
Watch this short video to see how the RoboVacMop can clean your floors.
The bObsweep Robotic Vacuum and Mop can sweep, vacuum, mop and UV sterilize all types of floors at once. UV what? Bob has a sterilizing UV lamp to disinfect your floors and get them cleaner than ever before.
After Bob is finished cleaning your floors, it will automatically return to its charging station and wait to be summoned again. This mop robot has a programmable memory timer, so you can schedule cleanings ahead of time.
This machine is specifically designed to pick up pet hair and clean up paw prints, so if you’ve got some furry family members, this should help keep your home clean.
The microfiber cloth can be used wet or dry to sweep and polish your floors. You can control the robot’s cleaning speed and mode to customize its cleaning style. It has a HEPA filter, which removes sub-micron particles from the air including mold, dust mites and viruses.

This iRobot mop has three different cleaning “styles”: wet mop, damp sweep or dry sweep. All three styles can be used on any hard floor including hardwood, tile, stone and more. The iRobot HOME app lets you check in on the robot’s progress on your floors.
It has a compact size and is square-shaped, so it can get into tight spaces. However, this also means that it takes longer for a job to get done.
The iRobot mopping robot has Cliff Detect which keeps it from falling down the stairs, and it can avoid rugs and carpet. Once it is finished with a job, it will return to its starting point and turn off. You can also create invisible boundaries with its Virtual Wall Mode to keep it out of specific rooms.
Overall, there are more complaints about this mop than we’d like to see. It appears to be a more expensive version of a Swiffer, and the replacement pads are also more expensive. Many reviewers said their floors were streaky or still dirty.
iRobot Braava Jet Price & Tech Specs
- Wet Mop Pads (10 count) $5.72
- Dry Sweeping Pads (10 count) $7.09
- Dimensions: 6.7 x 7 x 3.3 inches
- Weight: 2.7 pounds
- Warranty: 1-year limited
Since we only have hardwoods and a small space, I thought Braava Jet would be a good investment to help with mopping and cleaning up residual hair/dirt that is tracked in/around the house from shoes/dogs. However, while a little entertaining and impressive that it can do so many things, I was a little disappointed with the results. The robot is small, so the power isn’t very strong. It’s smart and senses walls and turns but sometimes would get stuck. Pros: the fact it can clean in hard to reach areas like under the bed where I can’t get a mop or vacuum. Also works right out of the box and is easy to set up. The cons: the pads get dirty quickly and are expensive to replace over time. – Sadie C. from Safe Smart Living 1/22/2018
