Cellular monitoring is the most secure form of monitoring, the equipment line-up has grown since its initial barebones launch, there are no contracts and easy DIY installation. But support hours are lacking, smartphone access costs extra, and there is no backup if cellular goes down.

Battery Backup
If the power goes out in your home, battery backup will keep your Cove security system on and your home protected. Cove has a 24-hour battery backup, which is the standard in home security.
The entire system will continue to work during a power outage unless the equipment requires a high-speed internet connection (e.g., cameras). Door/window sensors, motion sensors, glass break sensors, etc., don’t require a high-speed internet connection, so they’ll work with battery backup, and you’ll be informed of any triggers to these devices.

Cove’s security systems are completely customizable, so you can build your own and only pay for the equipment you need. Cove has a unique setup for its equipment and monitoring price. It has two options:
Option 1: No Upfront Cost
- Upfront Equipment Cost: $0 (for up to $400 worth of equipment)
- If you monitor with Cove for three years, they forgive the equipment cost
- You can pay the equipment off anytime during first three years and get a $10 discount per month on monitoring
- If you cancel before the three years, there are no unexpected cancellation fees; you just pay for the equipment in full

We have had our COVE security system for about 3 months now and I wanted to wait until I could leave an honest review. There is not one thing I would change about our system! We have had multiple false alarms and within SECONDS- we have a call, text, and notification on our control panel asking if we need 911 dispatch. The customer service is top notch, I can’t recommend this system & company enough!!

I purchased a new home and decided to go with Cove for our alarm system. I purchased the system and received it. Initially they did not send me 3 additional sensors that I paid for and when I called in I was told that I didn’t order the additional sensors. After going back and forth, I went ahead and ordered the additional sensors. I was shipped just one instead of the 3 I ordered. For almost one month I kept calling and was told that my order was processed and that it was being shipped out. I tried to talk to supervisors numerous times and was not successful. I was told they would call me and sure enough no calls. In the meantime I was already being charged for the monthly fee without even activating my service. This was the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. They are liars, they don’t care about their customers and completely dismiss you once you sign up. I will be reporting them to BBB as well. Truly a disappointment because I was really looking forward to the system. I spent almost one week calling every day for them to cancel my service and refund my money. Do yourself a favor and go with another company!
