Positive Reviews

AFC provided timely help with my plumbing issue. Their staff was professional, courteous, and efficient. They made the process of dealing with my issue very easy for me. I enjoyed the experience of working with them and will recommend others looking for a home warranty to consider using them. – Mark D., BBB 4/23/2020

We have lived here about a year now. Wanted to get a home warranty plan. (Name redacted) was very nice and explained everything to us. Easy to set up our new plan! As we are just starting with America’s First Choice I can’t speak to the quality of the coverage yet. Thank you! – Rachel, Consumer Affairs 4/17/2020

Negative Reviews

Bad experience. My sales guy didn’t explain that there were a total of 60 days in the waiting period before my full coverage would start. I was told 30 days then I would be able to make claims. I called to schedule service and was told that since I was still inside of my 60 day waiting period, AFC would only pay up to $150 to cover what ever the technician said we needed. This was not explained to me on the front end so basically I’m losing money on this deal and I can’t cancel the service request unless i can provide prof that my issue was fixed. AFC has hosed me basically and I didn’t even get to use the service that I’ve been paying on for the last 50 days. – Ramy Z., BBB 5/4/2020

Still unresolved plumbing/toilet issue. The service was so bad I would give zero stars if I could. The issue is still unresolved. Nobody can tell me what’s covered. Stories change all the time. My manager told me it would be covered. And now the plumber was out this morning and he couldn’t get approval. I’m ready to cancel my service. – Grace, Consumer Affairs 3/20/2020

I do not recommend America’s First Choice Home Club! Deceptive misleading practices to not honor claims – Don’t do business with this (Family Business) Company. I had a recent real time experience with AFC and if I can SAVE another customer the heart ache of dealing with this dishonest company here is my experience.

AFC Home Club is dishonest, deceptive, and has no Integrity whatsoever! They misrepresent their services and omit very important information when soliciting your business. (I have every recording of every conversation with them – including with their Sales Director, Marketing Director and multiple staff members) the sales team is either not trained properly or trained to LIE to get your business by Facts or Omitted or NOT implied – i.e. I had HVAC issues (what was deemed simple – easy wiring fix etc, by technician).

First of all some of what the Technician told us was a lie – second I got a text from AFC saying the issue was resolved – about 3 minutes after the Text AFC Home Club called – this was the resolution – I was offered $80 toward one of the part that was to be replaced! huh – this is not a deductible, plus I had already paid the call out charge. That is the deductible according to the agreement – Oh no, not AFC – at this point I was only with the company 7 months (including 2 months COVID19 Stay at Home in place) – Also, I was told because I needed a certificate that I had serviced my unit in last 12 months they couldn’t honor the claim – I refuted that and they backed down on that.

Next they claimed your unit has mismatched parts and we don’t cover units with mismatched parts – (first I am hearing this rubbish in all my life dealing with HVAC issues). America’s First Choice Home Club turned down my claim to repair my unit for $700 including their Technician cost – based on mismatched unit. This lead me to go research and read the reviews (should have done that before). There I learned this was a common practice for this company – Actually the Technician did mention it – at the time I thought hmmm maybe he wants the business outside the company – I later learned from another Technician the company wants them to lie to the customer in order not to honor the claim! Now I am furious and a common rejection of your claim is “your unit has mismatched parts” we don’t cover units with mismatched parts! 99% of Home owners will never know parts within the unit is mismatched (whether it be coils, wires, or other peripherals).

I had a legitimate claim and America’s First Choice Home Club lack of integrity and purposeful dishonesty from my experience with them – and after talking to multiple leaders – all of whom didn’t care to remediate the issue and stuck to your parts is mismatched tell me this is a common practice to deceive, mislead and separate customers from their hard earned moneys – do not be a victim – Best add appliances to your home cover Insurance and save the monthly $57 premium and your deductible – America’s First Choice Home Club just has no integrity.

Just bought a home and all the appliances are out of warranty. Debating if we should get a home warranty, anyone else tried this company?
