If the power goes out in your home, battery backup will keep your Link Interactive system on and your home protected. Link Interactive has an 8-hour battery backup for its 2Gig Go!Control panel and 24-hour battery backup for its IQ Panel 2 (24 hours is the standard in home security).
As soon as the power goes out, Link Interactive sends you a text alerting you of the outage. The battery backup with automatically kick in. The backup battery is rechargeable, so once power is restored, the battery will recharge back to 8 or 24 hours, so it is ready for any future needs.
The entire system will continue to work during a power outage unless the equipment requires a high-speed internet connection or AC power (e.g., cameras). Door/window sensors, motion sensors, glass break sensors, etc. do not require internet or AC power, so they will work with battery backup and you will be informed of any triggers to these devices.
Below are typical functions you can control within a home security app. The included column lists those supported by the Link Interactive app. Please know that to use some of the features you must have certain equipment. For example, you cannot lock/unlock doors unless you have smart locks in place that are compatible with your security system.

What Is Geofencing?
This video explains the Link Interactive Geofencing feature, which ties together your location with smart alerts and home automation functionality so you can be more secure and save energy at the same time.
Unlike most home security companies, Link Interactive does not have pricing plans that bundle equipment at a discount. You individually select the equipment you need, and then select a corresponding monitoring plan. The advantage here is that you don’t have to pay for equipment you don’t need. It’s also easy to add on components later.

We always have a security system and so far, Link Interactive has been a great company to work with. We’ve been very happy with it. We used to have a lot of mishaps with our old system where people would make mistakes and it would then trigger an alarm. We’d end up having to get telephone calls. But so far, the Link Interactive system has worked very well. It hasn’t failed yet. Reliability, ease of use and simplicity, especially for the end-users, are really what we’re after. Even the installation was easy and their customer service is definitely better than any alarm company we’ve had before. – B. of Co, Consumer Affairs 6/3/2019
Best service from ANY company, not just security, but ANY company. Very prompt, knowledgable, courteous, and very helpful. This includes support and alarm monitoring. I recommend them to everyone. – Nicholas M., Yelp 5/29/2018
If I could give them a negative star, I would. This company supplies the cheapest equipment I have seen and will not last. Equipment is missing pieces that allow the equipment to mounted. The “customer service rep” implied that I was too stupid to figure out how to mount the components. The customer service is horrible and there is NO way to get out of the 3 year contract. They will not credit your account for any of the system’s failings. Their “oh I am sorry to hear that,” is supposed to make up for the wasted money. For a 3 year contract, you should have 365 days to try out the system. If they believed in their product, it would have that warranty… – John, Consumer Affairs 3/13/2019
After multiple issues with our service, we got out of our contract and our last day is 2/4/19. Last night we discovered that we were locked out of our account and they disconnected us. They will not help us over the phone and tell us we have to call Monday for help. What type of alarm monitoring company can’t help you on the weekend? So now we are not protected at all. Who is liable if we have a fire or break in and no one is monitoring our system. I do not recommend the company at all! – Donna W., Yelp 1/26/2019
Link Interactive has a lot of things going for it. It has 100% customizable plans, many equipment options and all plans have cellular monitoring. However, its customer service isn’t as highly touted as our top picks, and it has a shorter warranty period. See which companies we think offer the best home security system.
