What Do Customers Think?

Positive Reviews

I was able to check my credit score, along with all the details from each of the three agencies. There was no spam, no hassle, just good information. When I needed to cancel my monthly updates, it was quick and painless, no guilt trip. I re-enrolled later, and I highly recommend Identity Guard to friends and family. – Rebecca M., Trust Pilot 6/17/2016

I’ve been using this service for sometime but also questioned Lifelock for alerts on fraud, so I joined both services to see which one is the best. Well, today I got my answer. Yesterday and again today, I received an alert notification from Identity Guard about an inquiry from Chase credit card. After researching with Identity Guard and Chase, we were able to find out someone has my previous marriage name and my SSN and used an address in Wisconsin (I live on the east coast) to attempt to open up an account with Chase/Amazon. This is definitely fraud and Identity Guard and Chase helped me to get this account inquiry immediately closed. Bye Bye Lifelock. – Ellen R., Trust Pilot 9/12/2016

Negative Reviews

I was the victim of identity theft and enrolled in the Identity Guard service on March 2. This plan includes one free three service credit report every 90 days. I expected to get an updated credit report on 1 April as that starts the new quarter. I called and they told me their system works on a process of ever 90 days from when you placed your order and I should expect my next report on 2 June. Well, 2 June came and went and no updated report. I called and they now advised that the updated report is provided in the third billing week of the month you started service after 90 days, so it isn’t every 90 days. False advertising. Whatever other false claims are they providing to their clients? I canceled my service on that phone call. – B.S., BBB 6/3/2016

I signed up for a couple plan and was billed for the family plan. I could not correct the billing by speaking to a representative and had to cancel the plan and start over. – David W., Trust Pilot 5/27/2016

  • IdentityForce provides full recovery services and 24/7 access to their fraud specialists; Identity Guard also offers 24/7 access to specialists, but you’re responsible for all the legwork to recover your identity.
  • Identity Guard will not send fraud alerts to the credit bureaus, while IdentityForce will.

Identity Guard vs IDShield

  • IDShield’s Family Plan is cheaper than Identity Guard’s.
  • Both Identity Guard and IDShield have full recovery services, but IDShield’s fraud specialists are licensed private investigators.
  • Identity Guard offers credit monitoring from all 3 bureau’s, while IDShield only offers 1.

Identity Guard vs LifeLock

  • Both monitor similar areas, but LifeLock also monitors your investment account activity, driver’s license and the sex offender registry in your area.
  • With Identity Guard you can cover two adults and two children for only $27.99 per month. To get the same level of coverage for a family of four with LifeLock, you’ll end up spending more than $50 per month.
  • LifeLock provides full recovery services and 24/7 access to their fraud specialists, who take care of most of the recovery process for you. While Identity Guard also offers 24/7 access to specialists, you’re responsible for all the legwork to recover your identity. Identity Guard also provides up to $1 million in expense reimbursement insurance (as does LifeLock).

There were 781 data breaches in the U.S. alone in 2015. Just because you got an email from your credit card company saying there was a security breach and they’re taking care of it, doesn’t mean it’s really taken care of. More needs to be done. I signed up for this service a few months ago for me and my wife. However, we only have one login despite the fact that we are paying for the Couples service. I have talked to customer service and billing a few times about this but they cannot seem to get it resolved. I may just have to cancel and start over to get this to work the way it should without even trying! So annoying!! Has anyone else had troubles with this or another ID theft company? I am not sure what to do…

I finally switched to Identity Guard from having LifeLock for several years and so glad I did. Identity Guard is so much better in my opinion, definitely worth the price!
